Family Literacy Program El Centritos' Preschools Volunteers interact with preschool children by assisting with table activities (such as coloring, cutting and pasting), distributing snacks, and overseeing free play time. Anyone willing to share any other special talents is also welcome. Volunteer time is Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm. Technology Computer Lab Program participants are age 5 to adult. Duties at the lab may include helping participants with simple operations of computers and some homework assistance. Volunteers at this drop-in center should have some knowledge of Windows XP and have a desire to work with people of all ages and various backgrounds. Volunteer time is Monday to Friday 2:30pm to 5:30pm. Adelante Club Program offeers daily school-based after school tutoring sessions at 450 S "K" street, Oxnard. Students bring their own homework, and the tutoring assistance is directed in the areas where students are most in need. A monthly teacher feedback form will be provided the mentors with input on each student's program in the completion of homework and math, language arts, and reading throughout the school year. |
