El Centrito Family Learning Centers is a bilingual community center located in the Mexican American community of Oxnard, California with service sites in La Colonia community and downtown Oxnard. El Centrito serves youth and families, especially youth at risk of low academic achievement.
Our mission is to prepare the youth and families of Ventura County to meet the future and become productive members of the community by providing bilingual, bicultural family and youth educational programs in partnership with parents, schools, and neighborhoods.
El Centrito was founded in 1992, and is currently celebrating thirteen years of service. Our goal is to help youth acquire the tools and skills that will assist them in their educational development, and help prepare them for today's complex society and working world.
